Fall has arrived in our beautiful little town and the leaves are ablaze on the bluffs.
With the cooler weather I like to charge up my creative batteries and come up with kit ideas to inspire gifts for Xmas crafting.
That said, we are excited to unveil our Sølje Earring Kit!
Sølje, meaning “shiny” or “sunny” in Norwegian, is the traditional jewelry of Norway. It is the umbrella term for all Norwegian silver jewelry or adornment.
Ever wonder why sølje pins have those shiny dangles with silver disc drops? These discs are called “spoons” or “shells” in Norwegian. Silver has long been a protective element against evil and abduction by the hulder folk in Scandinavia. Legend has it that should you run into the devil wearing your sparkling sølje he would see his own reflection and run away!
Don’t run away from a chance to create your own silver and gold washed earrings! Create up to two pairs of earrings by following your unique creativity. This kit is designed to introduce you to the beauty of Scandinavian silver work.

I survived Høstfest 2023! This festival hails out of Minot, North Dakota and it is all things off the hook Scandinavian. I was honored to be representing Sylvsmidja of Voss, Norway with Anders Fagerthun.
It was heaven to be surrounded by traditional silver jewelry in addition to a new Viking jewelry line and a beautiful contemporary silver collection inspired by Bunad silver and Norwegian nature called Spor.
It did take me a week to recover but I’m back in the saddle and eager to be back in the classroom for the remainder of the year. Please check the class calendar here for remaining classes for 2023. It doesn’t hurt to get a jump on your Secret Santa list!
